Double Lamborghini Cup podium for Rexal FFF Racing Team in Round 3 of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe at Zandvoort

21st June 2021

Rexal FFF Racing Team completed the third round of the 2021 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe season with a double podium in the gentlemen-oriented Lamborghini Cup class at the always demanding Zandvoort Circuit. For the father-and-son crew composed by Luciano and Donovan Privitelio, this is the third weekend in a row with a podium finish.

The Italian-French duo is gaining more and more confidence at the wheel of the #8 Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO and, with the help of former F1 driver Vitantonio Liuzzi, their level of performance is growing race after race. Despite the typical Dutch rainy weather, the track has always been dry during the two races, and the qualifying sessions as well. In Q1, Donovan set a lap time of 1:43.470, second-best in his class, while Luciano was third-best in Q2 with a personal fastest lap of 1:45.214.

On Saturday afternoon, Donovan took the wheel in the first stint of Race 1 and handed it over to Luciano, who managed to cross the finish line in P3, with the #8 car marking also the fastest lap in the Lamborghini Cup class. Same script but with reversed roles in Race 2 on Sunday morning, with another third place and fastest lap, and also a great recovery for Donovan, when he was fighting for the lead, until a spin three laps to go, which forced him to finish the race 3rd.

For Rexal FFF Racing Team is now time to work towards the fourth appointment of the 2021 campaign, taking place July 29-August 1 at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps track as part of the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa race weekend.

Andrea Caldarelli, Team Principal Rexal FFF Racing Team
“Another positive weekend for the team goes down in the books with two podium finishes. Zandvoort is a great and demanding track and it is absolutely satisfying to see both Donovan and Luciano displaying such a good performance level on these world-class circuits. Now “heads down”, because we have to prepare as well as possibly one of the most important races of the calendar. Spa-Francorchamps is one of the best circuits in the world and is certainly one where the driver can still make the difference, it will be an exciting challenge for the whole team”.
