Line-up change for Hankook FFF Racing Team in advance of first 2021 NLS race
27th April 2021
Hankook FFF Racing Team is ready to begin its challenge in the NLS championship, the popular series built around the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife track in Germany and its 24-hours marathon. On May 1st, the NLS3 event tagged as “62. Eibach ADAC ACAS Cup” will actually mark the NLS debut for the team, fielding a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO fitted with Hankook’s Ventus Race tyres and a dedicated livery. The first planned round, the 27th March NLS1 “66. ADAC Westfalenfahrt”, was in fact canceled due to snow.
This time there is a line-up change for Hankook FFF Racing Team, with Franck Perera drafted as Andrea Caldarelli substitute. The Italian driver, who is as well team principal for the whole FFF project, is going to have a simultaneous racing commitment for Lamborghini in the United States.
Perera, another Lamborghini Factory Driver, will complete the poker joining Marco Mapelli, Giacomo Altoè and Mirko Bortolotti. Franck, a proven GT3 contender like his colleagues, is no stranger to FFF Racing Team, having competed under its colours in the 2019 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, giving a precious contribution to reach a historic triple title win for the squad.
The NLS3 event schedule is condensed in just one day, featuring a free practice session, a qualifying session and the 4-hours race between 12:00 and 16:00 local time, using the 25.37-kilometer combination of the Nordschleife and the Nurburgring Grand Prix Circuit.
Fu Songyang, Team Owner Hankook FFF Racing Team
“I’m happy to welcome Franck onboard to this project. His experience at the Nordschleife is for sure one of the main reasons that led to the choice to call him for the NLS3 Qualification Race and the 24 Hours. We’re sorry not to have Andrea with us due to his Lamborghini Squadra Corse commitments, but he’ll continue to follow the operations in his role of Team Principal. Hankook Tire represents a new challenge for Perera, but the feedback had after a testing day is more than positive, so we look forward to starting together this amazing venture, after the first round in our schedule was canceled because of snow”.
