Orange1 FFF Racing Team ready for Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS’s Endurance Cup season-opener
14th April 2021
The 2021 season of Orange1 FFF Racing Team in the Endurance Cup of the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS kicks off this weekend with the 3 Hours of Monza. The Chinese squad heads to the first round determined to replicate the 2019 successes and is confident that it can prove straight away that it has the potential to reconquer the titles.
Driving at the Lombard track the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO #63 will be the all-Italian trio composed of three Lamborghini Factory Drivers: Andrea Caldarelli, Marco Mapelli and Mirko Bortolotti. The latter has also been designated to be on Saturday the Orange1 FFF Racing Team driver in the first round of the Fanatec Esports GT Pro Series. The virtual competition is one of the main novelties introduced by SRO in the event format of the season. It won’t only be a side activity to entertain drivers, but a real additional 1-hour race awarding points for the Teams’ standings.
In what is a home race for a team with a strong Italian component, Orange1 FFF Racing Team is pleased to field again a Pro-Am line-up. The Huracán GT3 EVO sporting #19 will be entrusted to Japanese driver Hiroshi Hamaguchi and Briton Phil Keen, a consolidated pair that has already won the class title in the 2019 GT World Challenge Europe.
Fu Songyang, Team Owner Orange1 FFF Racing Team
“The entire team is anxious to be back on track and take up a new challenge, and we are very happy to do it on a legendary track such as Monza. The objective is to start on the right foot with both cars, although we know it won’t be easy given the extremely high level of competitiveness in the GT World Challenge Europe. But we are ready to fight and we know that we have the cards to aspire at big things and that we can rely on a very professional team, ready to give the utmost. We are lucky to have at our side top-class partners such as Orange 1 Racing and Lamborghini Squadra Corse”.
